A Regina woman is facing charges, including drug trafficking, after an incident Wednesday evening.
Just before 8:00 pm, police responded to the 4600 block of Gordon Road for a report that a blue Chevrolet Blazer was stopped beside a business and that the female driver was slumped over the wheel.
Before police arrived, the driver left the area and drove to a restaurant drive thru. Police stopped the vehicle as it exited the drive thru and noted signs of driver impairment. Further investigation revealed the driver was wanted for a robbery and was also a suspended driver. The vehicle was also unregistered.
A search at the scene found substances and pills that were later confirmed to be methamphetamine, fentanyl, and hydromorphone, a scale, knives, and a substantial amount of cash.
As a result, 44-year-old Lisa Bonita Deroche has been charged with three charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000, and breach of an undertaking.
Deroche will make her first court appearance Thursday afternoon.
