Active case count in Saskatchewan keeps dropping

The province is reporting 141 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday to go along with 180 recoveries.  This puts the active case count at 1,786. That is the lowest since March 26 when the total stood at 1,680. 88 new variants of concern are also being reported.

The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West, 5; Far North East, 1; North West, 19; North Central, 13; North East, 1; Saskatoon, 38; Central West, 4; Central East, 15; Regina, 18; South West, 3; South Central, 7; and South East, 9.

There are 134 people in hospital.  28 of those 134 are in intensive care.

The seven-day average of new cases now stands at 180.

On the vaccination front, 6,935 doses were administered Tuesday with nearly half of those delivered in Saskatoon and Regina.

As of Thursday, the vaccination booking system is open to those 12 which is the last step in the age-based immunization campaign.
