186 new cases of COVID-19 being reported in Sask

The province is telling us of 186 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday to go along with four new deaths which brings the provincial total to 506.

Three of the four deaths are from people in the northwest zone.  They were in their 30’s,70’s and 80 plus. The other person to die was from the south-central zone and was in their 60’s.

The new cases are are located in the following zones: Far North West, 1; Far North East, 5; North West, 13; North Central, 29; North East, 3; Saskatoon, 53; Central West, 1; Central East, 7; Regina, 46; South West, 7; South Central, 12; and South East, 7.   With 266 recoveries, the active case count dips to 2,064.  The last time the figure was that low was April 2.  When it comes to active cases, Saskatoon now has the most in the province at 507 with Regina now at 482.  Regina had been the zone with the most active cases since February 20.

Only 3,050 vaccines were delivered on Monday with nearly half of those occurring in the Saskatoon region.

As of 8 a.m Wednesday, the vaccine age eligibility drops down to those 26 and older.  Those in that age range can book appointments at a pharmacy or attend a walk-in or drive-thru clinic
