Regina police charge man, two youth in attempted murder case

The Regina Police Service has charged three individuals with attempted murder over the weekend after two people were taken to hospital with apparent stab wounds.

Two charges of attempted murder and a charge of break, enter and commit robbery were handed to 37-year-old Desmond Eaglechild and two male youths.

Police were dispatched on Sunday after 1:00 a.m. to an alley in the 1500 block of Retallack Street. Officers found a 41-year-old man who RPS say was “bleed profusely from several apparent stab wounds.” RPS members provided first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived to transport him to hospital.

A 49-year-old man was also taken to hospital after he suffered apparent stab wounds.

After creating a perimeter around the scene of the crime, police located two suspects and made arrests without incident.

Investigation into a third suspect moved police to a residence on the 3400 block of Dewdney Avenue. A warrant was acquired for police to enter the home where they found the third suspect.

Eaglechild and the two youth suspects made their first court appearances on May 10.
