Edmonton man facing attempted murder charge in Moose Jaw

A 25-year-old Edmonton man will be in a Moose Jaw courtroom on Monday facing a charge of attempted murder.

Police in the city were called to home on the 800 block of 4th Avenue NE after getting a 9-1-1 call on Friday.

Upon arriving, police learned of a physical altercation between two men and a woman with one of the men allegedly firing a handgun.

When taken into custody, police say Yonis Asefaw was allegedly concealing a loaded handgun, had $6,000 in cash on him along with 16 ounces of cocaine that had an estimated street value of $45,000

In addition to being charged with attempted murder, Asefaw was also charged with six firearm offences and possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance.
