Regina Police issue nine more COVID-19 tickets in relation to April 24 rally

Nine more public health order tickets have been issued in connection to the April 24 Anti-Mask rally in Victoria Park.

At the time of the rally, two tickets were issued to people who attended the rally. In total, 11 public health order tickets and one traffic ticket has been issued.

Police say they are working to identify individuals who took part in the protest inside of the Cornwall Centre that saw a large group of people enter the mall without a mask, adding more tickets could still be issued.

Police are also aware of another planned protest coming up this weekend, saying they are planning on having officers in attendance to monitor the situation and take enforcement action where appropriate.

In a release, police also advise the public to avoid provoking further tensions with the protestors, saying there is no benefit to getting the protestors to commit criminal acts such as vandalism or assault.

RPS also reminds residents to stay informed on the current public health orders to ensure they are in compliance.
