Sask NDP continues to push for paid sick leave to reduce transmission of the coronavirus

The opposition is pushing the SaskParty government to introduce paid sick leave to avoid Covid-19 transmission.

NDP leader Ryan Meili says paid sick leave can save lives because some workers can’t afford to stay home when sick.

Labor relations minister Don Morgan says the province has co-operated with Ottawa to ensure there is support for workers during the pandemic.

He doesn’t want to duplicate federal support programs.

He adds the province has taken steps to help workers by providing paid time off for vaccinations.

He urges everyone to get vaccinated.
