213 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan with four new deaths

Four more people in Saskatchewan have died as a result of COVID-19 bringing the provincial death count to 486.

The province says three of the four deaths were in the Saskatoon zone and were people in their 40’s, 50’s and 70’s with the fourth person being someone in their 70’s from the Regina zone.

There are 213 new cases with 81 of them in the Regina region.  That gives the Regina region 810 of the province’s 2,443 active cases.

There are 184 people in hospital with 42 of those in intensive care including 25 in Regina.

143 more  variants of concern have been identified bringing the total to 6,444 across the province.

The seven-day daily average of cases now stands at 245.

When it comes to vaccines, the province says 7,334 shots were handed out on Tuesday with the most (2,206) being administered in the Saskatoon region.
