Suspicious package incident in east Regina ends without incident

A recent suspicious package call attended to by Regina Police has since ended without incident.

Police attended the scene of a suspicious object or package on the 900 block of Victoria Avenue near the Winnipeg Street intersection.

The RPS Explosives Disposal Unit was called to the scene to remove the item. There is now no threat to public safety and the area has since reopened to the public.

Businesses in the area had evacuate their staff, and residents were advised to avoid the area of Wallace Street from 12th Avenue to Victoria Avenues, including the alley. No one has been injured in connection to this incident at this time.

RPS say they still don’t know exactly what was actually in the package, and the investigation is still underway.
