Police charge Regina man after hitting home with vehicle while impaired

A Regina man is facing charges of impaired driving and refusal of a breath sample after hitting a house with a vehicle early Saturday morning.

Regina police received a call of a vehicle striking a home at around 2:30 a.m. on the 1800 block of Truesdale Drive. Officers arrived on scene and learned that a man ran from the vehicle towards University Park Drive.

Police later spotted the man on foot on Arcola Avenue, west of University Park Drive. Members of the canine unit tracked the individual to a backyard of a home on Kliman Crescent where they arrested 22-year-old Ethan Roesch.

Officers requested a breath sample from Roesch, but he refused multiple opportunities to provide the sample. Roesch will make his first court appearance on his charges on April 27.

No one from the victim’s home was physically injured by the incident. Damages to the home are estimated to be in the range of $20,000 to $30,000.

The suspect was also treated for a dog bite injury sustained during the arrest.
