Federated Co-op purchases assets of True North

Federated Co-op has announced the purchase of the assets of True North.

True North has launched a feasibility study of building a biofuel plant near Regina.

Federated Co-op CEO Scott Banda says the purchase builds on a strategy to improve the environmental impact of transportation fuels.

Federated Co-op has already bought the ethanol complex west of Regina, known as Terra Grain fuels.

Banda says the production of alternative energy sources will play an important role in reducing emissions from transportation fuel.

Federated Co-op has also announced new electric vehicle charging stations in 12 communities across the prairies.

Mayor Sandra Masters of Regina says FCL’s acquisition of True North is incredibly positive for the city.
