Two people charged in Regina after drug trafficking investigation

On Thursday, police observed a vehicle with two occupants inside, involved in behavior consistent with drug trafficking. Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle was located, and the occupants were taken into custody as they attempted to flee.

Search warrants were executed on a hotel room, a residence, and on a vehicle. During the search, a large volume of controlled substances was seized including approximately 270 grams of methamphetamine, 47 grams of fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, multiple OxyContin and diazepam pills, along with 13,000 in cash, bladed weapons, and several other items.

28-year-old Olivia Michelle Belhumeur, and 27-year-old Connor Nechiporenko were arrested and charged.

Belhumeur was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking diazepam, possession for the purpose of trafficking OxyContin, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, and dangerous driving.

Nechiporenko has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking diazepam, and possession for the purpose of trafficking OxyContin.

Both suspects made their first appearance in court Friday morning.
