Moose Jaw restaurant decides to close doors even though they don’t have to

Moose Jaw bars and restaurants can still have in-person dining, but one of the city’s more popular eating establishments has shut its doors in an attempt to keep people safe.

The decision was made after a busy Easter weekend by Deja Vu to shut the doors and just offer takeout and delivery services.

Owner Brandon Richardson says a lot of people from outside Moose Jaw have been stopping in.

“There’s people that come from all over. I don’t know exactly where they are coming from, but I do know there are travel restrictions for Regina and area.” Richardson said. “A couple of people have phoned to get take-out saying they came to the city because they wanted to go for a drive.”

Richardson knows the decision will mean a financial hit as people won’t be able to enjoy a meal indoors, but he says if that is what is needed to reduce the caseload we are seeing and hopefully get this thing over with going into the summer months when business is brisk, it is a risk he is willing to take.
