Regina man arrested after weapons incident

On Saturday night, just before 10:00 pm. Regina Police responded to a report of a weapons offence in a parking lot on the 1700 block of Elphinstone Street.

Information suggests two people approached their vehicle, which was parked in the lot. The people located an unknown man inside their vehicle and the man threatened them what was believed to be a knife. One of the individuals was involved in a short altercation with the suspected and sustained minor injuries as a result.

Police located the suspect nearby on the 1300 block of Pasqua Street, and the man was taken into custody without incident.

27-year-old Keith Trenton Bellegarde has been charged with assault with a weapon.

Bellegarde made his first court appearance on Monday morning.
