City of Regina asking residents to watch out for clean-up crews on high-speed roadways

The City of Regina is asking residents to be on the lookout for clean up crews who will be collecting litter alongside Ring Road and other high-speed roadways this week, as part of the City’s spring clean up program.

For crew members safety the City is asking motorists to slow down when passing workers.

In a news release the City said drivers can help keep high-speed roadways clean and clear of hazards by, securing and tarping loads when heading to the landfill to prevent objects from falling onto city roads and in other spaces, properly disposing of cigarette butts, which are one of the most common forms of littering in the city, and keeping waste inside your vehicle until you can recycle or dispose of it properly at home.

Safety measures will be in place to ensure a safe work environment for employees, including adherence to physical distancing guidelines.
