The provincial government is reporting 221 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan Sunday, with Regina accounting for just over half of them with 112.

The remaining cases came from Saskatoon (27), the south east (26), the south central (15), the central east (13), The north west (7), the far north east (7), the north east (6), the south west (4), and the north central (3). One case is pending resident location.

Three more people have also died from COVID-19. Two Regina residents in their 50’s and a resident of south east Saskatchewan over the age of 80 have died. This brings the death toll to 439.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 216, which equals 17.6 new cases per 100,000 people.

165 people have recovered, but the active case count is now up to 2,196.

There were also a significant number of tests processed Sunday in Saskatchewan, with 3,527.

The number of people in hospital has increased to 194, including 44 in ICU.

When it comes to Variants of Concern, the province is reporting 2,367 confirmed cases, including 1,626 in Regina.

There is no vaccination data to report Sunday. Vaccinations from Saturday and Sunday will be reported in Monday’s COVID-19 update.

A shipment of 7,200 Moderna vaccine has arrived, and is en route to the far north west, far north east, north east and south east zones. The next Moderna vaccine delivery is anticipated to arrive April 7, and is just under half of what was supposed to be shipped on March 22.
