APAS continues call for improved rural internet and cell phone service

A total of 43 recommendations have been made to improve rural internet and cell phone service in the province.

For the past six months, the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan has been talking to experts about an issue affecting everyone in rural areas.

Task Force chair Jeremy Welter says rural internet service needs major improvements.

Welter says improved internet service is crucial for rural Saskatchewan for several reasons, including business and home schooling.

Welter says improved internet and cell phone service would boost the Saskatchewan economy by 1.2 billion dollars.
