Trudeau says delivery of Pfizer doses to Canada being moved up

Good news on the vaccine front Tuesday from the federal government.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Pfizer is moving up delivery of five million COVID-19 vaccine doses from late summer to June meaning Canada can now expect 9.6 million doses of Pfizer vaccine that month.

The news comes at the same time as 3.2 million doses arrive this week bringing the total number of doses delivered to Canada since vaccinations started in December to 9.5 million.

While it is news that has Trudeau smiling, he continues to tell Canadians that the battle is not over yet.

“We’re entering the final stretch of this crisis,” Trudeau said. “More and more vaccine doses are coming every week. There is reason to be hopeful.”
