Tolmie tells Moose Jaw residents to stay vigilant in COVID-19 battle

In a move similar to what Regina’s Sandra Masters made earlier this month. Moose Jaw’s mayor is telling people in his city to stay viglant in the fight against COVID-19 and an increased amount of variants of concern.

Fraser Tolmie says conversations have been had with the province’s chief medical health officer and others about the recent increase in numbers .

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has told all Moose Jaw and area residents to do things like limit their shopping trips, opt for take-out and delivery and to stay at home even if you have the mildest symptoms.

While Regina has had tighter restrictions placed on them because of high COVID cases, Moose Jaw has not been placed under those restrictions.

Premier Moe and Dr. Saqib Shahab will be speaking Tuesday afternoon, but whether or not Moose Jaw and other areas will be put under the same measures Regina is is not known at this time.
