Half of Sunday’s new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan come from Regina zone

Regina is still the provincial hotspot when it comes to COVID-19 with over half of the active cases in Saskatchewan now coming from the area.

Monday’s update shows 202 new cases of the virus with 101 of them in Regina.  Regina now has 1,039 active cases with the provincial total being at 1,978.

The other new cases are located in the Far North West (2), Far North East (6), North West (9), North Central (10), North East (11), Saskatoon (22), Central West (4), Central East (6),  South West (1), South Central (10) and South East (16) zones.

162 people are in hospital with 25 of those in intensive care.

The seven-day daily average of new cases now stands at 199.3 or 16.3 new cases per 100,000

As for variants of concern, the province now says 1,474  have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan which is an increase of 109. They have been reported in the Far North East (1), Saskatoon (17), Central West (2), Central East (25), Regina (1,222), South Central (109) and South East (98) zones.

6,104 vaccines were delivered on Sunday with the majority being delivered in Saskatoon and the south-central region.
