Regina man arrested after driving vehicle dangerously

On Saturday night, just before 7:30 pm, Regina Police received a complaint of a dangerous driver in a 2008 Brown Chevy Malibu.

The vehicle had been the subject of an earlier complaint, but police could not locate it.

Just after 7:30 pm, officers located the vehicle pulled over and unoccupied on the 1400 block of Elphinstone Street. A man walked out to the vehicle, opened the driver’s door and was challenged by police.

The man became confrontational, got into the vehicle, and fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was found around 30 minutes later.

Police deployed a spike belt causing most of the tires to deflate. The vehicle came to a stop near 3rd Avenue and Argyle Street. The 21-year-old man exited the vehicle and was non-complaint with officers.  With the help of the K-9 Unit, the man was taken into custody and arrested.

21-year-old Dana Wallace has been charged with obstructing a peace officer, operation of a conveyance dangerous to the public, impaired operation of a vehicle, and refusal to comply with breath demand.

Wallace will make his first court appearance on Monday morning.
