Police hand out fine for gathering at northwest Regina home

Regina Police say a man who lives on the 4300 block of McMillan Drive in the city’s northwest end, is the latest to be fined for breaking current public health orders in place due to COVID-19.

Officers say after receiving a complaint they went to the house shortly after 12:30 a.m. Thursday morning, where they found a gathering of 11 people, current public health orders state households in Regina and area are restricted to those who live there, simply put, no outside guests are allowed at this time.

The man who resides at the address was given a $2,800 fine.

With 844 active cases currently, Regina leads the country on a per-capita basis.
