Two men facing charges in Regina’s third murder of 2021

Regina Police have now laid charges in the city’s third murder of the year.

Police say 54-year-old Charles Wayne Taypotat of Regina has been charged with second degree murder.

On Tuesday afternoon, police announced they have also charged 35-year-old Richard Crane with second degree murder, as well as attempted murder using a firearm.

Around 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning, officers were sent to a residence on the 1000 block of Garnet Street.

When they arrived they found an injured man who was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead. They also found a second victim who suffered a gunshot wound close to the same address.

Taypotat made his first court appearance on Monday, while Crane attended court Tuesday afternoon.
