WEATHER ALERT: All of Sask. remains under an Extreme Cold Warning Tuesday morning

All of Saskatchewan remains under an Extreme Cold Warning on Tuesday, as a ridge of Arctic air remains stalled over most of the prairies.

On top of well below seasonal temperatures winds continue to create wind chills in the -40 C to – 50 C range across the province.

With extreme conditions like those, frost bite can develop on exposed skin of people and pets in minutes.

Environment Canada says the bitterly cold air will remain over the prairies for much of the next week.

After that a slight moderation is expected, but daytime highs are still expected to be below seasonal.
