The Sobeys grocery store on south Albert Street will be closing this week as it starts rebranding into a FreshCo.

FreshCo is a subsidiary of Sobeys aimed at providing more competitive prices.

The company says by opening another FreshCo in the city, they’ll be able to offer customers even more access to their discount shopping experience.

In a statement, Sobeys says they are looking forward to offering a full-service experience in addition to locally grown produce and grocery items.

The rebranding is expected to take 4-5 months, and the new FreshCo will open this summer.

The new store will be the second one in the Queen City, as a FreshCo is already open in Regent Park.
