Regina woman arrested after holding woman against her will

A Regina woman is in custody after holding another woman against her will.

On Saturday afternoon, just before 4:00 pm, Regina Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Athol Street for a report of a 25-year-old woman who was allegedly being held against her will.

The victim was communicating through a third party who told police that when the victim tried to leave the property, she was assaulted and threatened. There was mention that firearms were observed on the property.

Police surrounded the address and took several individuals into custody. The victim was located unharmed.

As a result of the investigation, 18-year-old Barbara Ann Stonechild was charged with forcible confinement, assault, and uttering threats.

Stonechild is currently remanded in custody for court on Monday morning.
