Estevan man given $2,800 ticket after refusing to wear mask

A man in Estevan has been slapped with $2,800 fine after refusing to wear a mask inside a local business.

Estevan Police says they were called to the business around noon on Sunday for a report of a person refusing to comply with public health orders.

In a release, police said the man refused to wear a mask when asked by staff. He also refused to put one on after being asked by police.

The 43-year-old man was fined for violating public health orders, he was also charged for trespassing.

If the man is found guilty of trespassing, he could another penalty with a maximum of $2,000.
