Saskatchewan’s COVID-19 death toll increased to 274 on Wednesday after six deaths were announced in the province.
Here’s where the deaths were recorded in the province with age groups in brackets.
- Saskatoon: five deaths (50-59 category, four in the 80-plus category)
- North Central: one death (60-69 category)
Active cases decreased to 2,527 in the province after 149 new COVID-19 cases and 264 more recoveries were announced.
The new cases are located in the Far North West (5), Far North Central (1), Far North East (3), North West (8), North Central (8), North East (8), Saskatoon (48), Central West (2), Central East (7), Regina (38), South Central (2) and South East (15) zones and four new cases have pending residence information.
220 people are in hospital with 184 people receiving inpatient care and 36 people in intensive care units. The seven-day average of daily new cases is 242.
429 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Tuesday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 34,615 or 106 per cent of the doses received. The overage is due to efficiencies in drawing extra doses from vials of vaccine received.
