SGI is reporting that their customers could be targeted by scammers.

The Crown Corporation says the scammers will email potential victims posing as a bank institution asking for a photo or scan of their driver’s licence.

SGI asks their customers to take steps to verify the request before providing any personal information.

Anyone who has provided information to the scammers are being advised to contact their local police and SGI, as well as taking steps suggested by the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
