More than $3-million raised for Food Banks of Saskatchewan over the holidays

The Food Banks of Saskatchewan are happy to announced that more than $3-million in donations was received across the province over the holiday season.

Its Home for the Holidays campaign was the main reason, kick started by a $250,000 donation from Nutrien.

Donations will be distributed to the 36 registered food banks across Saskatchewan, unless a donation was directed to a specific location.

In addition to food supply, the Food Banks will also be using the donations to purchase PPE for staff and volunteers, as well as for managing food distribution in new ways to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

A major donation of $250,000 was also made by the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses at the start of the campaign. They also donated $55,000 last spring.
