Manitoba implementing 14- day quarantine requirement for anyone coming into province

Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister announced that anyone travelling into Manitoba, from anywhere in Canada, will be required to quarantine for two weeks.

This will take effect Friday, meaning Manitobans currently out-of-province have until 11:59 p.m. Thursday to return to the province and not have to self-isolate. If they arrive after that time, they must self-isolate for 14 days.

However, Pallister says there will be exceptions for people who live close to the Saskatchewan or Ontario boundaries and need to travel for essential purposes, such as grocery shopping.

Pallister cited concerns of COVID-19 and its new variants as reasons for the amended public health orders.
