It is too early to see what type of impact a Joe Biden administration will have on Saskatchewan exporters.

That from Chris Dekker, the CEO of the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership.

He says Biden’s agenda appears to be clear.

“His focus will be domestic certainly during the early months of his term and that includes “Buy America” provisions.” Dekker said. “Those are of concern because we need to see if it restricts Canadian goods and services specifically.”

He says what he would like to see is a Buy America program be expanded to a buy North America program.

Dekker believes Saskatchewan exporters are some of the best in the world and if given a level playing field and they can compete with anyone in the world.
