Premier Scott Moe is again reacting to the cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline expansion project by the Joe Biden administration in the US.

Moe called the news a “devastating blow” to North American energy security, adding it raises questions on the future of pipeline development.

Moe also calls on the federal government to compel the Biden administration to allow for the resumption of the project, he’s also asking the federal government to clarify what this decision would mean for future cross-border pipeline development and the future of Canadian-American economic relations.

Moe says he will be discussing the matter in a first ministers’ meeting Thursday afternoon.
