Habitat for Humanity ReStore in need of donations

Habitat for Humanity is looking for donations for their ReStore.

With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing more people inside, donations and shoppers have become sparse for the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.

Spokesperson Heather Mackenzie says January is a slow month as it is.

“As it gets colder outside, people seem to hunker down and they just don’t think of the ReStore,” Mackenzie said. “Usually, spring cleaning is when people kind of clean out their garages and get things in the store, and as it gets colder, people just don’t think of the ReStore.”

Mackenzie says donating and buying items at the ReStore helps the community greatly.

“One-hundred percent of the items that come through our doors (that) people buy that money gets put right through to affordable homeownership right here in Regina.”

Some donations they’d like to see include home building products and household furniture items.

Donations can be dropped off at their location from Monday to Saturday 11 AM to 4PM daily. Curb side pickup is also a free option, and can be arranged by calling the ReStore.
