Regina Police release identity of city’s first homicide victim of 2021

A resident of Bienfait, Sask. is the victim of Regina’s first homicide of 2021.

The Regina Police Service released the identity of 38-year-old Amber Dawn Wood on Monday afternoon, two days after a shooting that resulted in her death. Her family have been notified of her death.

On Saturday morning, police and paramedics were sent to a home on the 700 block of Athol Street where an injured woman was located. It was believed a shooting took place.

Wood, who was seriously-injured from the incident, was transported from the home to hospital by EMS. She was pronounced dead a short time later.

RPS, along with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, continues to investigate the death as a homicide.
