The main runway at the Regina Airport had to be closed Tuesday morning after an incident

Airport president and CEO James Bogusz says it happened around 10:30 when a privately owned Piper 42 aircraft land on the runway.  Emergency crews had to be called out because the plane ended up on its belly.

Only one person was in the plane and got out without injury.

While the main runway was closed, the other two runways continued to operate as normal.

The main runway was reopened just after 1 o’clock
