Regina Police make arrests after stolen vehicle investigation leads to the discovery of meth and fentanyl

Two Regina residents are facing charges after the theft of a vehicle led to the discovery of illegal drugs.

On Dec. 30, police received a report of a Jeep stolen from the 400 block of St. John Street. The vehicle was spotted Wednesday night at the 1800 block of Toronto Street, where the man driving the vehicle and the woman riding as a passenger were arrested.

Officers then searched the vehicle and found a quantity of meth, as well as a substance believed to be fentanyl.

35-year-old Nam Nguyen and 34 year-old Sasha Deis are jointly charged with possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a scheduled substance. Nguyen is also charged with breach of undertaking while Deis is charged with breach of probation.

Both suspects will appear in court at a later date.
