Regina man arrested after vandalizing Christmas ornaments downtown, found to have several weapons in his possession

Regina Police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection to a mischief and weapons incident that took place Sunday.

Police were dispatched to Regina’s downtown where it was reported that two suspects were smashing Christmas ornaments.

Upon arrival, the two suspects were arrested on 11th Avenue. One of the suspects had warrants out for his arrest in Saskatoon and has been released with a court date coming up in Saskatoon.

The other suspect had a can of a substance believed to be bear mace in his possession, and a further search discovered knives and a loaded home-made firearm.

18-year-old Ethan Fiddler from Regina is facing eight charges:

unauthorized possession of a firearm, three counts of carrying a concealed weapon, three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and careless use of a firearm.

Fiddler appeared in court Monday morning.
