Four arrested after gun taken into east Regina convenience store Saturday afternoon

Two men and two women were arrested Saturday afternoon, after Regina Police were called to an east end convenience store for a weapons offence.

In a news release, police say they were called to the store on Dewdney Avenue East, after a man walked in with a handgun on his waist.

The man got into a suspect vehicle with three others and drove away, officers stopped it a short distance away and arrested three people, the fourth, the woman driving the vehicle, fled the scene and was then involved in a collision at Ring Road and Winnipeg Street.

The woman was taken into custody and transported to hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

Police say charges are pending as the investigation continues.

No names were released.
