COVID-19 numbers keep trending downward as 2020 comes to an end

One death, 190 new cases, 439 recoveries and 142 in hospital.

Those are the numbers from the province on COVID-19 on the final day of 2020.

The one death comes from the Saskatoon zone where a person aged 80-plus died from the virus bringing the provincial total to 155.

The numbers put the active case count at 2,699.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (9), Far North East (22), North West (12), North Central (37), North East (2), Saskatoon (47), Central West (2), Central East (4), Regina (23), South West (3), South Central (8) and South East (10) zones. Eleven (11) new cases have pending residence information. Fifteen previously reported cases have been assigned to the North West (2) and North Central (13) zones.

142 people are in hospital with 112 getting inpatient care and 30 receiving intensive care.

The seven-day average now stands at 157.

There will not be an update from the province on New Year’s Day.  January 1 and 2 totals will come on Saturday.
