Regina Police to investigate shooting involving Saskatoon Police officer

Regina Police Major Crime Section has been called in to investigate a police involved shooting in Saskatoon.

At 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Saskatoon Police were called to a domestic dispute which reportedly involved a man armed with a weapon in the 1100 block of Avenue W North.

While police were attending the scene, shots were fired and the man involved in the domestic disturbance was injured. He is being treated in hospital and police say the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The Saskatoon Police Service has also requested the provincial government appoint an independent investigation observer to ensure the shooting is reviewed with as much transparency as possible.
