RCMP warning residents of dangerous road conditions in Regina area

Winter storm conditions are causing a mess on Saskatchewan’s highways Tuesday afternoon.

Travel is not recommended on Highway #1 from Rush Lake all the way to Sintaluta, including through Moose Jaw and Regina and the Regina Bypass.

According to the Highway Hotline, conditions are also causing travel to not be recommended on the #11 Highway from Davidson to Regina.

RCMP in Saskatchewan are asking residents to stay off the roads if possible until this storm blows through. Lumsden RCMP have already responded to a collision on the #11 highway near the Qu’Appelle Valley hill that involved three semi-trucks.

Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities have been reported at this time. Officers are expected to be on scene for several hours.

Travel is not recommended on many west-central Saskatchewan highways, including around Kindersley.

The winter storm warnings are still in effect for southern Saskatchewan.
