The latest COVID-19 numbers from the province shows that the active case count is dropping, but that we are seeing the biggest one-day total when it comes to deaths.

There were 11 deaths reported Saturday to go along with 274 new cases, 713 recoveries and 118 in hospital, The 118 is a drop of 15 from Friday’s report, 23 people are in intensive care which is down four from Friday. The deaths bring the provincial total to 75. The active case count is now down to 4,097.

The weekly average for daily cases sits at 292.

Those passing away were a person in their 60’s from the Northeast zone, a person in their 50’s from Saskatoon; three people over the age of 80 from Saskatoon, four over the age of 80 from the Regina region and two people from the Southeast who were in their 70’s and 80’s.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (8), Far North East (19), North West (43), North Central (23), North East (5), Saskatoon (78), Central West (2), Central East (13), Regina (57), South West (2), South Central (12) and South East (10) zones and two (2) new cases have pending residence information.

118 people are in hospital. 95 people are receiving inpatient care: one in the Far North West, seven in the North West, 11 in the North Central, 41 in Saskatoon, two in the Central East, 25 in Regina, two in the South Central and six in the South East zones. 23 people are in intensive care: six in the North Central, seven in Saskatoon, nine in Regina, and one in the South West.
