Six more people have died from COVID-19 in Saskatchewan. This brings the total number of deaths to 66 with 33 of those happening in the last 18 days.

Five of the six who died were over the age of 80 with three of those people coming from the Regina zone. It is believed they are all residents of the Parkside Extendicare nursing home where nine people in all have succumbed to the virus. The other two were from the northwest and southeast zones with the sixth person being someone in their 30’s from the north-central region.

The news comes on a day where the province tells us there are 183 new cases along with 279 recoveries. That is the biggest one-day total of recoveries and puts the active case count at 4,663.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (13), Far North East (10), North West (18), North Central (30), North East (5), Saskatoon (62), Central West (7), Central East (4), Regina (25), South West (4), South Central (1) and South East (1) zones and 3 new cases have pending residence information.

144 are in hospital. 117 people are receiving inpatient care: seven in the North West, 16 in the North Central, two in the North East, 51 in the Saskatoon, one in the Central East, 23 in the Regina, one in the South West, one in the South Central and 15 in the South East zones. 27 people are in intensive care: six in the North Central, 11 in the Saskatoon, eight in the Regina, one in the South West and one in the South Central zones.
