COVID-19 outbreak at Indian Head long-term care home

There is some concern in the town of Indian Head, about 45 minutes east of Regina, after an outbreak of COVID-19 at a long-term care home and the town’s bakery.

It is not known if there is a connection between the two, but a person connected to the home, who wishes to remain anonymous, says over 20 staff and residents of the Golden Prairie Home that have been told to self-isolate with some having tested positive. The Saskatchewan Health Authority has brought in some from Wolseley and other areas of southeast Saskatchewan to deal with the residents in need.

The 38-bed facility is closed to the public with the SHA saying families of residents are staying closely connected so they can keep in contact.
