Thirty-six new cases of COVID-19 in Sask; 9 more recoveries

There are 36 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, bringing the total to 2,306 cases.

Ten of the new cases are located in Saskatoon, 6 are in the Far North East, 6 are in the North Central, 4 are in Regina, 3 are in the North West, 3 are in North East, 1 is in the Central West, 1 is in the Central East 1, and 1 is in the South East. One case has a pending residence location.

Of the 2,306 reported cases, 326 are considered active which is a record-high number for the province.

Eleven people are in hospital. Nine people are receiving inpatient care, five in the Saskatoon zone, three in the North Central zone, and one in the Central East zone. Two people are in intensive care, one in Saskatoon and one in Regina.

The most recent summary data available indicates 79 individuals in multiple communities that have tested positive for COVID-19 are linked to the Gospel Worship event in Prince Albert, including case contacts of attendees. At least 250 contacts have been part of the contact investigation relative to this “superspreader” event.
