Wednesday night’s televised provincial election debate will be a first for the leaders of Saskatchewan’s two main political parties.

Sask. Party Leader Scott Moe and NDP Leader Ryan Meili will faceoff Wednesday evening, just 12 days before Saskatchewan decides who its next government will be.

The challenger Ryan Meili has promised an NDP government would spend millions on health care and classroom’s around the province, while also advocating for a $15.00 an hour minimum wage.

Sask. Party Leader Scott Moe has promised millions in tax credits and rebates, like the new home renovations credit and lowering power bills by ten percent if given the chance to re-form government.

Both parties have framed their platform spending as being a stimulus to help the provincial economy recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both Moe and Meili won party leadership races back in 2018, Moe took over as Premier for Brad Wall, who announced his retirement from politics in August of 2017.

Wednesday night’s debate begins at 6:00 p.m.
