Regina police open death investigation after body found near Wascana Lake

The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, has begun a death investigation after the discovery of a dead man near Lakeshore Drive, between Avenue B and Avenue C, in Regina.

Police were sent to the area just before 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6. Early information received indicated someone who was out walking in the park saw a person lying motionless on the ground. The person, an adult man, was unresponsive.

Emergency responders were called to the scene where the man was confirmed deceased by EMS; a coroner was requested soon after.

The man has been identified and his next of kin have been notified of his death. Police will not release the identity of the deceased individual at this time.

The Regina Police Service and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service continue to investigate to determine the circumstances of this person’s death. Anyone who has information is asked to contact the Regina Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
