Regina Police report first COVID-19 positive test

Regina Police is reporting their first positive COVID-19 test.

RPS was notified of the positive test on Monday night. The employee does not directly work with members of the public.

The employee will be away from work for a minimum of 14 days, and their work area has undergone a thorough disinfection and sanitization process.

Other employees have been made aware of the situation and are being advised to self-monitor for symptoms, with those who had direct contact with the COVID patient being advised to self-isolate if needed.

In a news release, police chief Evan Bray says this was inevitable, and that RPS is well-prepared for this situation.
