In news which shouldn’t come as a surprise to Saskatchewan people, both the NDP and Saskatchewan Party are declaring that they will have candidates in all 61 ridings up for grabs.

The Saskatchewan Party had made the declaration that they will have someone contesting each riding earlier this month. In a release, the party said Premier Moe and the team put together will be meeting voters in every part of the province to present their plan for a strong Saskatchewan and a strong economic recovery from the pandemic.

In the interest of transparency, the Saskatchewan Party is disclosing that six candidates, including Moe, have had impaired driving convictions. Four are current MLAs whose impaired driving offences were previously disclosed publicly and two are new candidates.

The NDP, who nominated their final 12 candidates on Friday, says its candidates form a diverse roster that comes from all backgrounds, experiences and professions, and demonstrates a readiness to form a government that will put people first.

The NDP adds six candidates have had impaired driving convictions with another being convicted of dangerous driving causing harm.

It is believed Saskatchewan voters will be heading to the polls October 26.
